When I returned home a little tipsy, there was a chalk circle on the road in front of a nearby apartment building.

Just one, there on the road.

Was it the remains of a game from some children who lived here?

It made me kind of nostalgic, and after checking there was no-one else around, I put both feet together and jumped into the circle. And suddenly, I felt rather embarrassed.

The moment I rushed out of the circle, I heard something crash and shatter behind me.

Turning around, a thick, heavy flowerpot was lying in pieces in the circle.

I looked up in surprise, but I couldn’t see anyone on the apartment verandas.
