Motoujina Lighthouse

Location: 734-0012 Hiroshima-ken, Hiroshima-shi, Minami-ku, Motoujinamachi, Japan

Motoujina Lighthouse can be found half way up the mountain in Motoujina Park. It’s one of the most famous ghost spots in Hiroshima. There’s a large tree right in front of the lighthouse where it’s said that numerous people have committed suicide over the years. Their ghosts now haunt the surrounding parking lot and toilet area as well. With its location close to the sea it’s the perfect ghost spot.

The area is particularly creepy at night and one can find several graves and bats flying about. Due to youths running amok the park it is now closed at nighttime, but some say this was actually done to stop the spat of suicides by the old tree in front of the lighthouse.
