Nijino Bridge

Location: Prefectural Road 64, Miyagase, Kiyokawa-mura, Aiko-gun, Kanagawa, 243-0111

Nijino Bridge, also known as Rainbow Bridge, is a famous suicide spot. It was built in 1985 and is the highest bridge in Kanagawa prefecture at 120 metres high. So many people have tried to kill themselves here that a two metre fence was erected to try and stop them. Despite this it doesn’t appear to have stopped people from coming to the bridge to end their lives.

There’s a sign on the bridge that says:

If you discover              around Miyagase dam,
if you discover something strange,
Please alert the following.

The white spaces actually exist on the sign, but whether they were there from the start or happened later is unknown.
Whether on purpose or by chance, the contents come across as somewhat profound.
