I Ended Up Somewhere Dangerous In Kyoto
1. I don’t remember the name, but I was walking to a burial mound late at night and found this weird tunnel. I looked it up after and it turned out to be a famous ghost spot, so I got scared. Does anyone know it?
7 (OP). Anyone from Kyoto know of it?
8. Where in Kyoto?
10 (OP). >>8 Near Shogunzuka, I think? I was walking there from Kamogawa River and thinking about camping outside because it was summer. There were lots of cars and then suddenly that tunnel appeared. It felt weird there so I got scared and ran away.
14. >>10 Near Yamashina Ward, huh? That place is pretty dangerous, but I’ve never heard about anything spiritual there. Minami Ward is both dangerous and full of haunted buildings and such though.
16 (OP). >>14 I don’t think that was it, but maybe it was Kiyotaki Tunnel or something.
13 (OP). I’m scared. There was a young couple so I was okay but if I was alone it would have been bad.
15. OP! Try clapping with the back of your hands.
18 (OP). >>15 Stop that!
17. Kiyotaki Tunnel?
19 (OP). >>17 I think that was it. I’m too scared to look it up.
21. >>17 Kiyotaki Tunnel is nowhere near Shogunzuka.
24 (OP). >>21 Then that mustn’t be it.
28. Maybe OP went to Old Kazan Tunnel?
33 (OP). >>28 Uwa, that’s it! Scary scary.
34. >>28 I knew it. The pedestrian part is pretty scary.
32. Did it feel scary there?
36 (OP). >>32 It did. It was late at night, but it was like, this place feels dangerous, and I got outta there right away. Thank god there were some delinquents there.
37. Here, right?

38 (OP). >>37 Stop that. Don’t post images.
39. Even the picture is scary.
40 (OP). It was like, what the hell is this place? It was late at night and some delinquents came by on their bike, so I was like, ah, right.
42 (OP). Is this place famous?
45. >>42 For locals, this tunnel and Kiyotaki Tunnel are bad.
43. BTW, there used to be a crematorium around there.
50 (OP). >>43 That area is seriously scary.
46. Speaking of Kyoto’s ghost spots:
– Midoroga Pond
– Kiyotaki Tunnel
– Shogunzuka & Kazan Tunnel.
48. I’m getting chills just hearing about it.
53. Is it really that bad?
62. So, has anyone seen a ghost there?
64. I don’t wanna go near Kazan Tunnel unless I’m in a car or on a bike. The hill is much harder than any ghost.
66. >>64 I saw an old lady walking there once, it scared me.
78 (OP). So why is this tunnel a ghost spot? What happened there?
90. >>78 Kyoto used to be one of the prefectures with the highest number of deaths in the past…
96. >>78 – It’s close to the urban area, but it’s still a tunnel in the mountains.
– There used to be a crematorium in the area.
I think these factors made it a popular test of courage spot.
99 (OP). >>96 I see. But like, the colour is so bright and strange there. What’s with that colour?
80. Ah, that tunnel. I forgot the name, but I’m interested.
84. Old Oinosaka Tunnel has a pretty creepy air about it too. Lots of people died there.
85. I love these types of ghost spot stories. The occult boards are dead, it sucks.
86. Speaking of Kiyotaki Tunnel, ya gotta mention this vertical mirror. The one that says your cursed if you stand under it and don’t see your reflection.

89. >>86 Well, functionally you won’t see your reflection in it that way.
113. >>86 What’s the point of this mirror?
115. >>113 It’s right at the top of the hill, so it’s to see traffic coming from the other side.
101. You can hear screams and laughter night after night coming from Kamogawa Delta.
106 (OP). >>101 Where?
108. >>106 The junction with Demachiyanagi River.
103. Prefectural Road 50 is pretty scary late at night too.
35. But what if that tunnel was never really there and OP was the only one who could see it?
