Can You Spot the Horror Hidden in the Poster for the Film Inunaki Village
1. “The poster visual for the film Inunaki Village, releasing on Friday 7 February, 2020, has been released.”
(omitted)
“Is the destination indicated in the phrase ‘the location you mustn’t visit within Japan’ really referring to Inunaki Village? What will happen if you enter this ‘place you mustn’t visit’? These visuals certain heighten expectations for the film. And are you able to recognise the hidden “fear” within the poster…?”

10. Gyaaaaa.
4. There’s a clown holding a balloon coming out of a TV on a bridge. This is going to be absolutely terrifying.
15. >>4 It’s kind of a mess, huh?
16. Mount Inunaki Hot Springs: “We’re suing for damages!”
86. >>16 Mount Inunaki is scary too.
17. Have you guys ever heard of Zazanbo?
68. >>17 When I went to see it there was a bit of a riot.
146. >>68 That was in the newspaper as well, lol.
22. Did they mix up Inunaki Ridge and Sugisawa Village?
23. That’s a huge tunnel, huh? I like them a little smaller.
49. >>23 The real Old Inunaki Tunnel is definitely smaller.
32. Isn’t it Inunaki Ridge?
41. >>32 No, Inunaki Ridge actually exists.
37. Around the end of the Showa era, 12 people from a village of 36 in Hokkaido hung themselves. Nikura Iwao himself said he went to look into it.
63. >>37 What’s this about? I’m intrigued.
40. Only the tunnel actually exists, the village isn’t real.
284. >>40 Maybe there used to actually be a village too?
285. >>284 Inunaki Village has never existed, not now nor in the past.
43. Mount Inunaki Tunnel in Osaka is also a ghost spot too, right? The stories of a ghostly girl appearing around there are rather recent though.
47. I’m curious as to the origins of this legend. Like, do communities like this really exist where regular people can’t enter? Is it an urban legend or a true story? Is it a bit unusual, dangerous, or strange? I’m intrigued. But I don’t want to be put in any danger, so I won’t go to check, lol.
50. That’s where those delinquents murdered someone, right?
252. >>50 Is that the one where they burned him in the tunnel after beating him up?
51. The old guy who lives nearby always complains about the sightseers.
53. Stop going to Yuubetsu Coal Mine!
219. >>53 I’ve been there twice! We ran into a bike gang from Kushiro.
54. Right after I read that you shouldn’t go there in a white car with an odd number of passengers, I heard that a car with a single high school student had an accident. It scared the crap out of me.
71. You used to be able to pass by the front of Inunaki Ridge, but now there’s a fence and you can’t go any further.
74. Was this the village they featured on that Unbelievable special sometime a while back?
76. >>74 Wasn’t that Sugisawa Village?
82. >>76 Ah, that was it! So, this is a new horror story then? Man, I wish they’d do a story about Tengoku Village.
84. Ah, this is that story that got way too big and now it’s a hassle for Fukuoka, lol. There’s no end to the people going there for tests of courage, and all sorts of people visit it after hearing about it as well now.
87. This is that place in Fukuoka they say is really famous, right? Like, there’s a sign in front of the village that says “the laws of Japan have no precedence inside this village” and the villagers will chase you with sickles and such if you get near.
88. The reason the old village near Inunaki Ridge no longer exists isn’t because of something horror, it’s because they built a dam. The reality is something perfectly common.
92. At first, the rumours only spoke of how the tunnel was creepy and there were ghosts there, but at some point, the villagers would also appear and chase you at high speed as well.
93. When I went there long ago there was a mannequin hanging by its neck that scared the crap out of me.
115. There are some things in this world that we should just leave be.
129. Oh yeah, so what happened with that “the Big Head O sign is real!” thing?
152.
153. In the early days of the internet, there were a lot of rumours going around, but now, YouTubers can go right to the location themselves and see how things are. The fear of ghosts has diminished and there’s no adventure or romance left in it.
199. What about Kotoribako?
247. >>199 There was a movie, but like Kunekune, they just took the name and made something entirely different. It was crap.
202. The real Inunaki Ridge is sealed off now.
208. >>202 It’s fenced off with blocks.
206. It’s not like there’s actually a weird village, there’s just one strange old guy living in a cabin out there with a sign he made. There was a separate murder case, but other than that, I think all these stories were caused by one weird person.
210. It’s dangerous if you turn around, right? I dunno.
231. Speaking of Kyushu, I think Rear S Ward was interesting.
235. What’s scary about ghost spots is that real living people could be there now.
239. It’s just like Wrong Turn, stop.
255. Sugisawa Village: “Don’t take my position!”
260. The people living around Inunaki must have suffered a lot from these rumours.
293. Actually, it’s still scary even if you go there during the day. The terrifying tunnel entrance suddenly appears out of nowhere. I wonder what’s happened there since it was sealed shut?
295. Do an advance screen at the tunnel.
6. >>1 If you look at the poster from afar, it makes a face, right?
9. >>6 If you look close up, it’s a tunnel, huh? I only noticed after hearing that.
55. I can’t wait to see this.
