There’s a small car park on the way to the convenience store. One of those places you see around the place you have to pay for. As I was passing by there the other day, the hood of my parka suddenly felt heavy. Once I was past it, the feeling was gone.
‘What the…?’ I thought and turned back. It grew heavy again. No matter how many times I tried it after, every time I passed the parking lot, I felt a strange heaviness.
It was enough that most people probably wouldn’t notice it, but once you did, there was no way not to notice it again. I felt like I knew something no-one else did, and it was kinda fun. I started wearing my parka even more after that.
When it gets heavier, I wonder if perhaps something has been put in there. It’s been on my mind a lot recently. There have been times where I even stopped and turned the hood inside out to check. But recently I’ve stopped doing that entirely. It feels like if I go too far, whatever strange event is occurring will stop.
I rode past there again today.
My hood got heavier again.
