The girl that started working here part-time last week is just a little strange. The way she thinks and the turning of the cogs in her brain, it’s just slightly but most definitely different to others. Now, don’t get me wrong, she’s not an unpleasant person. We don’t get along, but she doesn’t annoy me. She’s somewhat relaxing, and things always turn out well.

But then the other day, she suddenly said something strange.

“She said someone’s watching her.” My co-worker suddenly announced in the back room while I was on break. “There’s an upside down man clinging to the window glass that’s watching her around the clock, she said.”

I agreed that nothing could be there and she laughed. She probably thought it was just another of that girl’s strange utterances. She wasn’t speaking ill of the girl; it was more like she was bringing it up to have something to talk about.

“It’s a little odd, right? There’s no way there could be anything like that.”

I smiled back at her, but at the same time, I felt relief from the bottom of my heart.

Thank god. That meant that thing was no longer interested in me anymore.
