I was walking outside when I heard a woman scream. Surprised, I went to see what was wrong and saw a woman sitting in front of a large iron plate, 2 metres by 2 metres and about 50 cm thick. I asked her what was wrong, but she was so scared she couldn’t speak.
A person wearing work clothes soon came and explained what happened. It seemed they were doing construction on top of the building and the iron plate had fallen. Thankfully, no-one was hurt; it appeared the woman was so surprised that she fell backwards and out of the way. But even so, there was something weird about this black iron plate sitting on top of red tiles.
I got tired of walking and decided to drop by that area once again before the sun went down. The iron plate was still there, probably because it was so heavy that they hadn’t gotten around to moving it yet. But there were guards there to keep people away because it was dangerous.
The woman from earlier was there. I went to talk to her.
“You must have been surprised,” I said.
“I really was,” she replied. “When I heard the scream I was shocked.”
If the woman wasn’t the one who screamed, then the owner of it must have been under…
